Custom Tooling for Cable Hardware

Custom tooling helps turn a product requirement into a repeatable manufactured part. JKTE reviews injection molds, die-casting molds and stamping tools as part of cable hardware development and OEM production.

Information needed for tooling review

  • Dimensioned drawings or a reference sample with the required changes.
  • Material grade, critical tolerances and mating components.
  • Expected order quantity and annual demand.
  • Mechanical or environmental performance requirements.
  • Surface finish, marking and sample approval criteria.

Trial samples and revisions

Tool trials show how the part forms and how it fits with other components. Dimensional checks and product evaluation identify any changes needed before release. Keep drawing and tooling revisions aligned so the approved sample remains a useful production reference.

Agree tooling responsibilities

The development quotation should address tooling charges, ownership, maintenance, permitted use and modification arrangements. Discuss exclusivity separately when it is part of the project.

From tooling to repeat production

After approval, production planning connects the tool with the agreed material, machine process and inspection points. A tool change or material change may require renewed sample checks before the next order.
