Typical custom components

  • Clamp bodies, wedges and protective covers where specified.
  • Insulation piercing connector housings and insulating parts.
  • Cable support inserts and locating components.
  • Protective shells and other drawing-based polymer parts.

Specify the polymer requirement

Provide the required mechanical properties, operating temperature and exposure conditions. Color, UV requirements, moisture behavior and any relevant electrical characteristics should be reviewed for the particular part. A generic material name does not define all of these properties.

Check the complete assembly

Molded dimensions, shrinkage and contact surfaces affect the fit with metal parts and cables. Trial samples should be checked against the mating components before approving the production drawing. Functional testing is selected for the final application.

Prepare a custom parts request

Send the drawing, intended use, material specification and quantity. Include samples of mating parts when possible and identify any dimensions that are critical to fit or function.
