ODM Development for Custom Cable Fittings

JKTE supports custom cable fitting development when a standard model does not meet the application. ODM work can include dimensional changes, revised interfaces, material options or a new component design.

Start with the application

Describe the cable or conductor, mounting arrangement, required load and operating conditions. Provide drawings, samples or the customer specification where available. These inputs establish the design target and the tests needed to evaluate it.

Development stages

  • Requirement review and agreement on the technical scope.
  • Design and material selection with a manufacturability review.
  • Tooling or prototype preparation.
  • Dimensional, assembly and agreed performance checks.
  • Sample approval and release of the production specification.

Control the design changes

A change to grip geometry, material or a cable contact surface can affect performance. Record revisions and reassess the relevant requirements before approving production. Test documentation should identify the design actually evaluated.

Commercial and confidentiality arrangements

Tooling charges, development milestones, ownership and any exclusive supply arrangements are agreed for the individual project. Confidential drawings and project information can be covered by an NDA before detailed disclosure.
