Mold Design & Manufacturing Workshop

Tooling determines how a fitting can be manufactured consistently. JKTE develops molds and tooling for injection-molded, die-cast and stamped components, connecting product design with trial production and ongoing maintenance.

Tooling development workflow

  • Review the product drawing, material and critical dimensions.
  • Assess manufacturability, parting lines, shrinkage and assembly interfaces.
  • Prepare tooling and produce trial components.
  • Inspect dimensions and evaluate assembly fit against the approved design.
  • Record approved changes before releasing the tooling to production.

Equipment and processes

The workshop uses CNC machining, EDM, wire cutting and grinding equipment for tooling work. The required process depends on the tool material and cavity geometry. Maintenance and revision records help keep production aligned with the approved sample.

Design for the intended environment

Temperature, corrosion exposure and cable loading affect the product specification. Tool geometry alone cannot establish outdoor performance; material selection and finished-product testing must also be considered.

Tool ownership and project scope

For custom tooling, agree development charges, ownership, maintenance, expected use and modification terms in writing. A clear scope makes sample approval and repeat orders easier to manage.
