Round Drop Cable Mandrel Clamp ABJ
The ABJ mandrel-type clamp tensions 3–4 mm round optical drop cables on aerial FTTH connections. The stated maximum span is 70 m.
Features
- Compact, economical mandrel design
- Supplied nylon tie retains cable slack to limit wind-induced vibration
- Tool-free installation
- Durable construction in UV-resistant thermoplastic
- Specified regular span range: 30–50 m
- Minimum breaking load: 0.5 kN
Application
ABJ provides anchoring at dead ends and tensioning points on FTTH and FTTX drop routes. It supports last-mile broadband connections and telecommunications access networks serving residential and commercial premises.
The integrated body and textured cable-contact areas help prevent loosening while maintaining cable retention under mechanical load and outdoor exposure. The nylon tie holds surplus cable in position. The specification accepts 3.0–4.0 mm round cable; actual span selection should account for the installation conditions.

General test method
Ultimate tensile testing measures the load a component can sustain under mechanical tension. Opposing pulling forces are applied until the specimen deforms or fractures. Measurements can include elongation, yield point, tensile strength and ultimate strength.
This method is used for pole-line suspension clamps, preformed guy grips, ADSS dead-end fittings, stainless steel banding, FTTH drop clamps and strain clamps. Endurance testing may combine tensile loading with thermal and oscillating stresses; applicable conditions are selected with reference to IEC 61284 for overhead-line fittings. Such tests can support product qualification and routine production quality control. This description explains the test method; it is not a model-specific test report.
